Griffin Blog: What’s In Your Cup?

Coffee cup...?!? I don't need no stinking coffee cup! Mountain Dew is my caffeine source.

Ha! You sound like our photographer, Brad. He's been known to down a
tin or two of Dew. :)

As a fellow Griffinite, I like to drink the free stuff here at the office, though at home I choose between a couple of options. French press tastes best but my grinder/drip maker combo does the job when I'm wanting several cups. We got one of those single cup makers as a wedding gift and it's pretty great in a hurry. Cheers!

    Sorry about the delay Whit.
Now with all of this talk about coffee I am craving more of the brown stuff. On my way to the kitchen! :)

I waffle on my java...I'll go through, typically every 3-4 months general shift...currently it's a good straight-ahead medium roast (higher in caffeine than dark roast) at either my local shop (City Dock in Annapolis, MD) or at whatever local shop has on tap when on travel. And by local I mean Starbucks only as a last resort as I tend to like to give my business to smaller/local companies. Last 6 months prior it was Grande nonfate latte...but at the home office we have both a regular Krups brewing machine as well as a Nespresso machine, so we go with the mood of the day/hour and atmosphere (I always get asked to make espressos/cappuccinos in the evening and at parties). Prior to that I was in a frozen concoction from City Dock called Cappucino Chill which I found out later was an ice-cream based liquid, 3 shots of espresso and ice all blended into essentially a coffee milkshake - what's not to like, save the excessive calories!

Finally, since hearing it, I am cognizant of making sure I don't embarrass myself and get too excessive on my order, as George Carlins New Rules for 2006 stated: "New Rule: The more complicated the Starbucks order, the bigger the a##-hole.
If you walk into a Starbucks and order a "decaf grande half-soy, half-low fat,
iced vanilla, double-shot, gingerbread cappuccino, extra dry, light ice, with one
    Sweet-n'-Low and one NutraSweet," ooh, you're a HUGE a##-hole!"

    Ha ha.
We've got some great local spots in Nashville too. Bongo Java, Fido,
Frothy Monkey, Crema to name a few. I'm also partial to Tim Horton's,
but that's the Canuck in me speaking. :)

I try to keep my ordering to the basics.

Geez that last comment of mine was wordy...think it might have been the 8 cups of coffee I've had today?

I quit drinking coffee several months back. It was tough, but now I and my wallet fill much better. ;) Though I slip every once in a while and grab a creamy, caramel "coffee flavored beverage". Always have preferred iced over hot, and oddly reverse when it comes to tea.

I quit coffee for about a month earlier this year. The headaches were
brutal for the first few days. Then I got addicted to decaf coffee. :)

I really love coffee. I love tasting different coffee mixes even 3-in-1instant coffee. I know it's funny drinking instant coffee. But it's more tasty if I mix it with creamer.
